The Meesho 50/50 Document Architecture
When you navigate to the Meesho Supplier Panel (Orders ➔ Ready to Ship) and click Download Selected Labels, Meesho generates a consolidated PDF. In this PDF, every order occupies a single A4 page:
- Top 50%: The logistics shipping label. It contains the courier AWB barcode (Delhivery, Shadowfax, Xpressbees, Ecom Express), customer PIN code, routing sort code, destination hub, and seller return address.
- Bottom 50%: The customer tax invoice. It lists product description, SKU, tax rate, HSN code, and total amount.
Why Printing the Whole A4 Sheet Wastes Money
Printing the default PDF onto a direct thermal roll printer produces an unusable sticker because the printer squashes both halves onto a single 4×6" surface, making the barcode too microscopic for courier laser scanners to read. Printing full A4 sheets on laser printers consumes 1 full sheet of paper per order, along with expensive toner and yards of transparent packing tape.
Under e-commerce regulations, customers receive their GST invoice electronically inside the Meesho mobile app. Courier pickup partners only inspect and scan the top shipping label.
