Why We Built LabelSlice
Running an e-commerce business is demanding. Daily operations involve packing parcels under tight courier dispatch cut-off times (often before 2:00 PM to meet same-day shipping SLAs). Yet, dispatch teams routinely spend hours each day manually cutting paper labels with scissors, peeling tapes, and wrestling with misaligned printer margins.
Existing online PDF tools either charge steep monthly subscriptions, enforce strict daily page quotas, or upload confidential customer shipping manifests to third-party cloud servers. We created LabelSlice as an open, free, blazing-fast alternative that respects merchant privacy and eliminates unnecessary packaging waste.
Built with Modern Browser Engineering
LabelSlice leverages bleeding-edge web standards:
- PDF-Lib: Enables in-memory PDF parsing, vector boundary calculation, coordinate re-mapping, and document merging in under 2 seconds.
- PDF.js by Mozilla: Powers high-definition, pixel-accurate vector rendering for instant multi-page previews and thumbnail filmstrips.
- Vector Fidelity: Code128 and 2D DataMatrix barcodes are preserved without downsampling, ensuring guaranteed 100% first-time laser scans by courier logistics riders (Delhivery, Shadowfax, Xpressbees, BlueDart, Ecom Express).
Our Engineering & Operations Team
LabelSlice is developed and curated by a dedicated group of full-stack engineers and logistics specialists based in India. Having worked directly with small manufacturers, D2C brands, and marketplace warehouse operations, we understand the practical daily friction of printing dispatch manifests under tight carrier cutoff schedules.
Hardware Testing & Verification Lab
Every preset and algorithm on LabelSlice is thoroughly bench-tested on physical thermal barcode hardware:
- Thermal Printers Tested: TVS LP 46 Neo, TSC TE244, Zebra ZD220 / ZD230, Rollo Commercial Thermal, Xprinter XP-420B, and Brother QL series.
- Scanner Verification: Every barcode output is verified with 1D handheld laser scanner guns (Honeywell Voyager, TVS BS-L101) and mobile 2D camera scanners used by courier delivery apps.
- Continuous Calibration: When marketplaces update their document templates or manifest layouts, our team immediately updates presets so sellers experience zero dispatch disruption.
Editorial Standards & Trademark Independence
LabelSlice is an independent engineering utility. All product names, logos, and brands (including Meesho, Flipkart, Amazon, Delhivery, Shiprocket, TVS, TSC, Zebra) are property of their respective trademark holders. Mention of these names does not imply affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement. Our tutorials and guides are written from objective, field-tested experience to help online sellers navigate dispatch standards.
